I cannot stress how excited I am for Summer. This seems to be the longest Winter I’ve ever experienced and with each warm day comes another snow filled one. As the snow is falling, I momentarily forget my longing and fall victim to the gentle falling flakes’ magic. We’ve spent a lot of time indoors as I’ve been busy preparing the website (what do you think????) and working on lots of art. Poor Odin has been slightly neglected by his mumma these past few weeks. I feel like I have another week or so of heavy duty work until I’m back to a slow and steady pace. I can’t wait.
I’m so grateful to Amber of Au Coeur for creating my website. I’ve been so eager to have a place where my blog, shop, and portfolio could be easily accessible for those interested in a single or all of those things. I love the way it turned out. Simple and accessible and filled with my illustrations. She finished about a week ago and I’m still bogging her down with questions every day (I’m so website illiterate), but she’s always so sweet and eager to help.
Zak’s back to work full time and at first I was worried that I would sink into some sort of sadness, but I’m finding I missed the time with just Odin and I. We’ve been taking morning trips into town or walking to the Oldest House to visit the winter garden. Lots of hot cocoas and snowball fights in the Lily Ponds and Zak’s only been back to work for a few days! I’ve been making plans with friends to have weekly hangouts to make sure I’m up and out of the house in the morning, for my benefit as much as Odin’s. The warmth of our bed seems so much more inviting than the cold outside and most days it’s where I’d rather be, but I have yet to regret venturing out to meet a friend downtown or drop by the post office.
My art ventures have been rapidly increasing and I’m so grateful. There are so many lovely people on the Facebook Page and on my Instagram that are constantly showing me an outpouring of support. It’s funny, I never thought I would be so grateful for these online communities. I’ve received a few random emails in the past month or so and they’ve all been so lovely. One of the most recent ones from a new friend brought me to tears. It’s so fascinating how someone you’ve never met in person could understand you so fully. I’m not sure if that’s ever happened to you, but if it does, I promise it will leave you in shock with happy tears running down your cheeks.
I’ve been neglecting this space lately, mostly due to the transition from blogger to wordpress. I have three posts planned for this weekend though, so hopefully that will catch me up.
