I didn’t think anything could beat last year’s Mother’s Day, but I was most definitely wrong. Zak woke me up with the most delicious french toast breakfast and coffee and too many lavish gifts! Locally made chamomile chocolate, dried fruit dipped in chocolate, the most beautiful moonstone ring, rose water in the loveliest blue bottle, and some organic hibiscus powder. My favorite was the note that accompanied the gifts. I like to keep his words as my own, but it started like this, “Michelle, Everyday I am amazed in at least a hundred different ways by the gentle caress of your mothering hand. The way you navigate the dark and treacherous waters of parenthood with a captain’s grace. Guided through the storm by constellations I can barely seem to make out through the fogs of repetition and the blinding sting of reality. You feel the changing of the wind as if it blew from inside you, and use it’s power to propel our son through each day.” Words that made me feel truly appreciated. He’s so dreamy and he always does these things that make me fall a bit more in love with him each time! Odin also wrote me a sweet letter, which he was very proud of although I’m not too sure what it said!
We had a very laid back day. A visit to the Take it or Leave it, and sitting outside and drawing while Odin took his afternoon nap. After his nap we went to Squam Swamp for a mushroom hunt and then got Thai on the way home. It was the most perfect day. I love my boys so very much! I hope each and every one of you felt special this weekend, and every other day for that matter!
