I always wanted to be an illustrator most of all. I love all forms of art and try to partake a little in everything. I love taking photos and casually do photo work for people. I would love to get into birth photography, but I think it may be a slow process getting into that field. I think I’m still learning a lot every day I take a photograph and aim to continue learning. I’ve been quite busy these past few weeks. I’m almost through with my wait list and have accepted another few spots. I also have been doing a lot of textile design for for Tula, which is making my heart happy. I love being able to draw a variety of things throughout the week, rather than reserving myself to one style of custom portrait. I’m working on a few new things: more dolls, paper dolls, coloring books, and screen printed goodies. I’m excited about the screen prints- things will be more affordable. I’m also eager to begin really working on some plush dolls for a few local shops here. I’ve paired with one of the shops on island to host a little farmer’s market this summer geared towards kid’s goods. I have a lot of work ahead of me and I’ve been using every possible moment to get ahead. Having a toddler hanging out with you all day makes working at home a bit more difficult than before, but we’re making it work. I cannot wait until this summer when I have Zak’s sister as my mumma’s helper. I will be able to get so much more work done and really get ahead for the year.
I’ve even found myself having a few moments to do things for me, making mandalas or drawing all over my scrap paper- whatever inspires me. This balance is making it so much easier to focus on “work” when the time comes to do it. Balance is key in everything it seems, I’m learning that more and more every day.
I’m really excited for where I’m headed. I really hope to boost productivity and really power through these next few months to establish myself. Things are looking very very bright.
