The Craft Show is over and I’m so happy to have been a part of it. It was so much fun to meet the other crafters on our little island and to have the opportunity to talk with people in person about what I am passionate about. Next to me was the most marvelous woman, Glenora. She told the best stories during the lulls and I wanted nothing more than to run away with her after the show to have tea and continue listening to her stories about having dinner with Dr. Seuss or turning her daughter’s bedroom into a mystical fairy land. Luckily we planned to have a doll tea party after the holidays and invite all of our friends and all of our dolls. On the other side of my table was another amazing gal who made me laugh more times than I can count! I will definitely be doing it again.
I am so thankful for all of my friends, Mae and Diana (and the cutest little tester Tsela) for helping me prepare inventory and keeping me sane all while keeping Odin entertained when I could not- especially the day before the show. Carl and Lizzy came over a few nights in a row and helped with stuffing dolls and cutting out paper dolls, THANK YOU. Of course I’m ridiculously grateful for Zak’s help, he helped more than I could have imagined and stepped up as sole parent most days. Z, you rock!
I’m excited for the free time that the ending of the show weekend offers, but also know that I still have quite a few projects to finish up. I owe some lovely people some dolls and portraits and am planning to work through those this week. Next week will be strictly for walks and crafting with Odin. Making gifts for family and friends and dancing to bad pop songs and awesome jug band music. I cannot wait!
