For a little while there, I was having a very hard time focusing on any work. I had big plans this winter to really get ahead and overproduce so that I would have inventory to list over the next few months. Well, it didn’t happen. I was behind on babywearing portraits and desperately trying to catch up throughout most of the past few months. I still have a couple more to finish up and send off, but I feel much better about the overall situation now. I’m going to be taking a break from the portraits for a little while, while I figure out my routine. I love making the portraits, but it’s a little more draining than it used to be. With the dolls, Zak and I can mass produce them- making twenty arms or legs at a time, embroidering ten faces in a day, making ten new outfits all at once. It’s more motivating for me to be able to work this way, rather than on individual pieces. I know I had mentioned starting a waiting list, and that may still happen, just not for a little while. I really want to focus on making dolls right now, as well as working on the variety of other projects I’ve been dreaming up. Not to mention, making a few things for myself! Focusing only on dolls will allow me to work on a few of my own projects which I am more than happy about.
Spring time has definitely helped break me out of lacking motivation. Spending the day outdoors and then coming inside in the late afternoon to work is so wonderful, I’ve missed it more than I thought!
I will be releasing five hooded dolls tomorrow at 10 am, 2, 4, 6, and 10 pm EST. The price will be slightly higher because with PayPal fees and shipping, it is not where it should be. I realized this during the second release, but have been delaying raising the prices because I felt so guilty! To make up for that, I will be making a variety of lower priced dolls that will be regularly available like these bunnies and some other animals.
